A Round Up Of 2015

2015 has been a huge year for us here at Paneltech Systems Ltd. We started the year off by launching our second website www.steelforgardens.co.uk which is specifically for our bespoke garden design work.

During 2015 we have successfully implemented ISO9001 and become members of Constructionline. We have also set up a completely new drawing system thanks to Solid Solutions and our very talented draftsman James.

For the first few months of the year the fabrication team completed our project of 40 large format LED screens which are now installed at sites around London. You may spot them around the city - you can't miss them as they are 6m x 3m!!

The fabrication department had an extra busy couple of months over the Summer period. In June we won the contract to supply the steel enclosure for the Gold Award winning 'African Vision Malawi Garden' designed by Gabrielle Gardens at Hampton Court Flower Show.

We then exhibited for the first time at the CLA Game Fair in July and were over the moon to win the award for best trade stand in show!

November saw PSL turn 16 years old and over this past year we have welcomed 7 new members to the team which makes us 19 strong, the biggest we have ever been!

Our controls and electrical department has tripled in size due to a new contract producing automated wash room systems for Dolphin Dispensers, as well as regular panel builds. Excitingly we can also now offer commercial electrical installation with our new electrical team.

As the company continues to grow we have also been able to add two lovely new sign written vans to our fleet.

We were recently awarded a contract to provide a bespoke CorTen steel piece for the Fellows Garden at Jesus College Cambridge next year which we are very excited about. With so much already planned and happening next year, we can't wait to see what else 2016 holds for us.

Paneltech and all the team would like to thank you for all your support throughout 2015 and we wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

We are now a registered member of Constructionline which is the UK's leading procurement and supply chain management service. Constructionline collects, assesses and monitors standard company information through a question set that is aligned to PAS 91, the standardised pre-qualification questionnaire developed by BSI to reduce duplication within the construction industry.

Our management system has also been approved to ISO9001 2008 for the manufacture, supply and installation of structural, architectural, decorative and fabricated metal products.

We recently exhibited at the first ever Glamping Show!

We are so pleased to announce that we have won the award for Best Trade Stand In Show at The CLA Game Fair! We are absolutely over the moon!

Due to our continued growth, over the Summer we moved to a new larger premises. Paneltech is now operating from Marley Lane Business Park just off the A21. After a hectic couple of months we have settled in well and we are all enjoying our new more spacious workplace.

Since the big move we have welcomed two new members to our workforce; Matt and Rose. Matt is a previous employee of Paneltech and we are very pleased to have him back as part of our welding and fabrication team. Rose now heads up reception and is the friendly voice that you'll reach at our end of the phone.

In January 2014 we have been awarded a new contract with Reds10 in Elephant & Castle, London. This is a similar project to the container housing for the homeless in Brighton except this time the containers will be transformed into offices. We are all very excited about this new project and look forward to working with Reds10 again, so watch this space.........

Also during January we had news of another project with Ian Kitson the fantastic Garden Designer based in London. He has a large project starting at a domestic property in Wales and yet again Ian has designed some fabulous architectural sculptures for us to 'get our teeth into'.

From August to December 2013 Paneltech have been working closely with QED Asset Management and Reds 10 to provide containerised housing for the homeless in Brighton. The site at Richardson's Yard has 36 of these container apartments, which are stacked up to 5 high to take up a smaller footprint.

Paneltech have manufactured all the Juliette balconies, other balconies, walkways, stairs and handrails to bring the complex together. The Juliette balconies were fitted to the container houses on their way to Brighton from Tilbury and whilst at our premises, graffiti art was added to two of them.

This project has been publicised widely by national media and has been on BBC South East and local news channels, in many of the daily papers and broadcast on local radio stations.

We are pleased to have been involved with such a "feel good" project, and are looking forward to working on a similar project in London in the very near future.

In August a Paneltech team travelled up to Biggleswade to Holmes Mill - Home of Jordan's cereal & cereal bars. The gardens of the mill have been re-designed by Ian Kitson & Julie Toll and Paneltech have made the corTen aspects of it. These include large planters in ovals and oblongs, some divided by paths and walkways. Our photos show the site just after the corTen parts were installed, and any planting has commenced. There is more work to do using some of the original mill stones to make seats with corTen bases - so watch this space, more photos to follow as the garden matures.

The corTen work at the house and garden in Fairlight progressed well to be finished in time for an "open garden" in June. The Arbours look fantastic in situ, as do the "eyes" through the hornbeam hedging. Our retaining wall and steps lead down to the meadow area of the garden all beautifully designed by Mr. Ian Kitson. Paneltech had a team outing and visited Chris Hutt's wonderful garden. Chris wrote these kind words about Paneltech:

'We needed a variety of corTen steel structures to play a key part in a newly laid out garden. We were delighted to find that local firm Paneltech Systems could make them for us. We were impressed by the quality of their service and the engineering skills which they successfully applied to our demanding specification. Support and commitment from the Paneltech team have helped to deliver an overall result that we are thrilled with.'

In April we made a beautiful set of bi-fold gates for a prestigious residential mews in Chelsea, London. You can see from our video how the gates open onto a car lift that was controlled by a panel also built by Paneltech. Two departments working in perfect harmony!

Paneltech would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

Paneltech have won a contract to work with Ian Kitson on a beautiful garden landscaping project in Pett, East Sussex. Paneltech's part will involve fabricating a weathering steel feature wall and curved steps. We are delighted to be working alongside such an accomplished and innovative garden designer, whose ideas are truly inspiring. We will be posting more on this project as it progresses, in the meantime you can see some of Ian's work on his website www.iankitson.com

On a more festive note Paneltech have supplied the Christmas tree support for the Village tree in Camber, East Sussex. We had a nice thank you in the Community magazine and the Parish Councillor, Lea Robinson wrote this:
"Just a few lines to say thank you and your colleagues very much for the Christmas tree pipe. It's excellent, and everybody here is very impressed with it. Thanks also for your invaluable help and advice."

We would like to wish all our Customers and suppliers a very Happy Christmas and a good 2013.

Paneltech is 13 years old!! To celebrate we had a bit of a party at our weekly team meeting. Deb made a birthday cake and we had a special edible logo made for the top - it looked great, see for yourself in the photos below.

Paneltech goes from strength to strength, we are anticipating trouble free teenage years!

A big thank you to all of our valued customers and the whole team!

October has been another busy month at Paneltech!

The projects team have spent most of it in Equatorial Guinea overseeing a Bitumen Ship unload, working on the Ship to Shore Unit we installed there. It was a very successful trip: they safely unloaded 3,000 tonnes of bitumen into storage.

The control panel department have been working on 10 sets of Heating elements which are each 5m long, and four of these with their controls heat a 20ft container of crude oil. As you can imagine these took some careful manoeuvring around the workshop! And had to have specially designed crates for shipping.

The Fabrication shop have been extremely busy (as always) and through their doors this month have been balconies, balustrades, rose arches, a set of ornate gates, a Christmas tree stand and metres and metres of hooped top railings, to name just a few!

November the 9th is Paneltech's 13th Birthday! So party celebrations are underway..... more next time!

This month (July) one of our projects was to Design, Manufacture and Install a Fire Escape at "The Vines", a health care centre in Crowborough. The entire staircase had to be enclosed, so a polycarbonate canopy was designed and fitted. See the photos below, it looks very smart!

Our new website is now complete! Many thanks to Joe at Feathers for doing a fantastic job and designing our new logo. You can now find us on Facebook and Twitter. Follow us now!

We have been overhauling a sparkling wine corking machine for Carr Taylor Vineyards in Westfield. The machine inserts a cork into "Champagne" bottles, and then adds the metal cap to complete the process. The corking process had been completely pneumatically controlled and John, Josh & Mike replaced the pneumatics with a logic controller allowing the machine to be electronically controlled.
